New Minister to speak at Road Safety Expo
New Road Safety Minister the Hon Paul Clark MP to speak at Road Safety Expo 09 12 November 2009 QEIICC.
Westminster Newly appointed minister responsible for road safety, the Hon Paul Clark MP, has confirmed that he will open and speak at Road Safety Expo in his position as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Transport, Department for Transport, UK Government.
The event will take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, Westminster, London on Thursday 12 November 2009. Stewart Lee, Managing Director of Publications UK, commented: “I am delighted that the Hon Paul Clark MP has made Road Safety Expo one his first confirmed speaking engagements following his new appointment a few days ago. This serves to underline Road Safety Expo as the most important event in the road safety calendar of the UK. The delegates have the opportunity to hear about new developments in reducing road safety casualties, to learn about the latest technology and equipment and to discuss legislation in support of road safety. The event is aimed at Road Safety Professionals, Engineers, Police/Enforcement Officers, Fire & Rescue Officers, Local Authority Representatives, Company Directors, Health & Safety Officers, Road Safety Charitable Organisations, Transport Managers, Fleet Managers, Road Safety Partnerships, Driving Instructor Representatives, Coach and Bus Services. The conference programme this year will focus on Safer Motorists, Safer Roads and will include a Safer Vehicles Master class. Speakers include Claes Tingvall, Director of Traffic Safety for the Swedish Road Administration; Ellen Townsend, Policy Director for the European Transport Safety Council; Edmund King, President of the AA.
The conference programme will close with Saul Billingsley, Deputy Director of the FIA Foundation who will set a challenge of ‘A Decade of Road Safety Action’ for all delegates.
